Buffalo Bills Football Team

The stadium for the Buffalo Bills football team is located away from downtown in Orchard Park, New York. The location makes it ideal for tailgating, and the stadium and the community around the stadium encourage the fans to fully participate in the festivities of every home game.

The stadium allows traditional tailgating in the parking lots, encourages RV tailgating and offers free admission to the tailgating parties at the Buffalo Bills Fieldhouse, the stadium and in Lot 2.

Lots Ralph Wilson stadium allows tailgating on all the stadium parking lots except in Lot 6, Lot G, Tunnel Lot, Administrative Lot and Training Center Lot. The stadium lots have 15,000 parking spaces. The regular parking lots open four hours before game time and they close at least two hours after game time. Parking is $25 for cars on public lots and $50 for RVs on camper lots entering on Friday and $40 on game day.

The RV Lot of the Buffalo Bills football team opens on Friday evening and you can enter from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday from 12 noon to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday arrivals have their pick of the lot. For extra room to spread out your grills and games, you can park at the fence that separates the RV parking from general parking. The Bills have a bona fide bathhouse facility, which is kept clean throughout the weekend, is heated and access is free. In addition, if the celebration of a Bill's victory deters leaving right after the game, you do not have to leave until Monday.

You can purchase a parking pass on the day of game unlike many franchises, which mandate purchasing parking passes in advance. You are allowed only one space per vehicle with a first come first served basis and it is against the rules to save a parking space. The Buffalo Bills football team games are very popular events and tailgaters can use private parking lots near the stadium from homeowners for $10 to $15.

Guidelines for Tailgating

In order to enjoy all of the festivities taking place at the Buffalo Bills football team stadium, you have to follow the guidelines:

  • Only tailgate in front or behind of your vehicle
  • Extinguish all flames and grills
  • Use appropriate trash containers
  • Don’t block traffic lanes which prevents cars from exiting

Stadium management, security personnel and the police monitor the lots on the stadium grounds. They will help you with anything you need but they will also remove disorderly tailgaters from the lot, and arrest them if the situation merits such action.

Pre-Game Parties

You do not necessarily have to bring your own tailgate party. The Buffalo Bills offer free admission to pre game celebrations, such as the 97 Rock Tailgate Zone in Lot 2, which opens four hours before the start of the game. The Zone offers food, beverages, chances to win prizes and live music.

Focusing on family fun, the Game Day Experience is touted as 'the largest indoor tailgate party in the NFL" according to the Buffalo Bills Official Website. The Buffalo Bills Fieldhouse hosts the party, which starts 3 1/2 hours before kick-off and ends at kick off. Interactive games that test football skills, vendor areas, visits from past Buffalo Bills players, pre game radio shows and concessions all create a pre game, organized tailgating experience. Also guaranteed to entertain is the exhibit with molds of the hands and feet of current players that fans can see how they "Measure up to the Pros".

Opening 1 1/2 hours before kickoff, the Labatt's Blue Zone is a hospitality area behind section 306/307. Before it closes shortly after halftime, food, beverages and music provided by a deejay keeps the party going.

A great pastime in all tailgating parties is reliving the many great and heartbreaking moments of their Buffalo Bills football team. These conversations can get passionate but it is how tailgaters bond with each other over the course of the season.
