Jaguars Football Team

One of the newest stadiums in the NFL belongs to the Jaguars football team in Jacksonville, Florida. Tailgating in this city brings the added benefit of a marina giving you the option of using your boat instead of your car. The Florida sun and the ocean make this location one of the best tailgating scenes in all of football.

Parking

Parking at the Jacksonville football team stadium starts at $25 for cars, $100 for limos and $150 for buses and RVs. You can park your vehicles on lots A, E, F, H, K, R, V, W, XX, Y, Z and lot Q is the oversize lot. Security regulates tailgating in these parking lots but if you want unlimited tailgating, you can go to The Tailgaters Parking, which has the following lots:

  • Touchdown Lot
  • Sideline Lot
  • 1 First Down Lot
  • 2 First Down Lot
  • Field Goal Lot
  • Time Out Lot
  • Extra Point Lot
  • Red Zone Lot
  • Half Time Lot
  • End Zone Lot

The fee for the Tailgaters Parking is for a season pass, but if you show up early on game day you can find passes for a single game. You can also tailgate at the Jacksonville Fairgrounds lot but, again, you have to show up early because the spaces are only available on a first come first served basis.

Boat Docking

If you have a boat and you are going to a Jaguars football team game, you can dock your boat at the Jacksonville Municipal Marina Boat Docking or the River City Brewing Company Boat Docking. The docking fees are based on the size of your boat with a 30 ft. minimum at three dollar per feet. Overnight docking is available and some boat docking companies have three-day minimums. You can call the dock-master for each company to find out their rules regarding tailgating.

Rules and Prohibited Items

The Jacksonville football team permits tailgating but you have to follow the following rules:

  • No tailgating in parking garages
  • No open fires
  • Grilling permitted only in barbecuing equipment
  • No loud or amplified noise

Call the information center to find out if your assigned parking space allows tailgating. When you are ready to go to the stadium and watch the game you are not allowed to take in these prohibited items:

  • Coolers, cans, bottles and cups
  • Laser pointers
  • Seat cushions
  • Cameras with lenses longer than six inches
  • Weapons of any kind
  • Infant carriers and strollers

You must consent to searches when you enter the stadium so do not carry large bags or unnecessary items.

Alternative Tailgating

If you do not want to cook your own food or deal with the cleaning up you can go to the Pepsi Tailgating Cabanas. It is at the South End Zone and they offer an exclusive fully serviced tailgating experience for $60 per person. It opens three hours before game time and you can eat and drink all you want. This type of tailgating is ideal for families with children because it is a controlled environment. If you have never been tailgating this is a way to get your feet wet before you head into the parking lots.

Food

The tailgating food is varied because it is so close to the ocean. Seafood is front and center on most grills but you will also find beef, pork and chicken. Some of the fish and fruit items you will see include:

  • Crawfish boils
  • Lobsters
  • All kinds of fish including grouper, bass and tuna
  • Grilled fruits

The large Cuban population in Florida means you will find Cuban food on many of the grills in the parking lots. Without a doubt, tailgating at a Jaguars football team game provides a nice selection of food and atmosphere, to which other stadiums can only aspire.
