Ravens Football Team

Viewers of DirectTV only a few years ago voted the fans of the Baltimore Ravens football team as having the best tailgating city in the NFL. This dedication stems in part from the downtown location of the M&T Bank Stadium and in part from having to show the Colts that they do not mind the betrayal of 30 years ago.

Baltimore’s sea coast location can mean that it can get pretty cold waiting for games in the middle of the season, so you’ll want to check out both indoor and outdoor options for your tailgating party.

Tailgating in the Stadium

The owners of the Ravens football team have put in place many goals regarding the quality and desire of their players. They have almost as many official goals relating to the comfort and safety of their fans. To this extent, large groups of Ravens supporters can rent out the Talon Pub in the lower concourse of the stadium from up to two and a half hours before the game starts. This gives you exclusive access to the bar, which gives you an all you can eat catered meal and open access to both soft drinks and beer.

You can also choose the Premium package for your guests, which will include the price of your ticket in a prime location and a piece of Ravens merchandise. Be warned that the bar will be open to the general public 30 minutes before game time for the duration of the match.

Going Outside

The dedication of the Ravens football team does not stop at the gates to the stadium. The team also owns the AAA Ravens Walk, which is on the walkway between Oriole Park and the M&T Bank Stadium. While you can’t set up your own party here, a wide variety of bars showing every kind of sport possible, as well as live bands, DJs, a big screen TV showing pre-game interviews and analysis and lots of sponsored tailgating games are all here. You do not need a ticket to enter, but you do need to turn up early if you want to avoid the crowds for a while.

Best Kept Secret

Those who are long time fans of the Ravens football team or who have been to Baltimore a lot will know of the city’s best-kept tailgating secret. Each home game day, the kind firefighters of Baltimore Firefighters Local 734 open the doors to the firehouse and set up a barbecue for as many Raven fans as will fit inside.

The firefighters do ignore the local passion for seafood, so steer clear if you are searching for true Maryland fishcakes. However, if you are looking for a tailgate with no alcohol but lots of tasty meat and chili, give these guys a try. It is very much a local thing though, so if you are not a Ravens fan, either steer clear or go in ready to have your mind changed about which team you follow.

Lot H

If after all these options, you still want to take your own vehicle down and set up your own party, then Lot H is the best place for it. The whole parking lot is given over tailgating, though strict rules apply about where and how you can park to make sure everyone has enough room. You will find cars and RVs that have been specially decorated in purple for the occasion, and if you look hard in the side lots, you will find Mista T’s party.

Mista T is a massive Ravens football team fan and will allow anyone from either side to come and have a few beers. You’ll be well advised to get in touch with him ahead of time on the Ravens 24x7 forum where he is one of the moderators as his party soon runs out of space.
