While the Seattle Seahawks football team might not have the best reputation for wild tailgating parties on game day, it certainly has a few spots where you can find true Seahawks fans having a good time. Seattle has some of the best sports bars near to the stadium where you can get a catered tailgate and one of the unique tailgating locations in the NFL.

Popular Tailgating Locations

The downtown location of the stadium has meant that tailgating in the parking lots is limited, so many people choose to party off site. The best off site location to find hordes of Seattle Seahawks football team fans is Tailgaters Heaven. This is located two blocks west of Century Link Stadium under the viaduct and while it is under the authority of the local police, it follows its own set of rules as set down by long time fans of the Seattle Seahawks.

Expect to pay $40 for a truck, and to get there as early as possible, as it will be full by 9 am on game days. Open containers of alcohol are discouraged, but booze in disposable cups is acceptable, especially if you share. The golden rule is that Hawk Heaven is for home fans only and visiting supporters who venture there can expect a rough time.

The other main location for a good tailgate is the North Lot of the stadium. The lot only holds a couple of thousand spaces and parking passes for each home game sell out quickly at the start of the season. However, it is the one area actively endorsed by the Seattle Seahawks football team to tailgate, so you may find Sea Gal cheerleaders and promoters doing the rounds of the different parties.

Team management allows you to party during the game, but you must leave within two hours after the game has finished.

Located in the Quest Field Event Center, Touchdown City is the place is the place for you and your family to celebrate the upcoming game. Big screens show the live NFL games from across the country, the Sea Gals do meet-and-greet appearances and plenty of food and drink is available for all ages. The local KIRO pre-game radio show is broadcast live from here and they often get fans up on stage to be live on the radio. Tickets are free and you do not need to have a game ticket to enter.

Sports Bars

If you are traveling a long distance or don’t like the idea of bringing all of your tailgating equipment with you, then Seattle has plenty of great sports bars near to the stadium where you can get an indoor tailgate experience. The best bars for the inside tailgating experience to support the Seattle Seahawks football team are:

  • Pyramid Ale House — This is located to the southwest of the stadium and is popular with home and visiting fans alike for its large beer gardens, giant screens and long bar meaning that the next beer is never too far away.

  • Sluggers — Sluggers is opposite the North Lot and is one of the most popular bars in the area. It fills up quickly, but if you manage to get a seat, you will find an array of massive flat screen TVs showing as many different live NFL games as possible.

  • The Hawk’s Nest — As the name suggests, this is a bar for hardcore fans of the Seattle Seahawks. If you are wearing other team colors, you cannot enter on game day and they will throw you out if you do not sing the praises of the home team.

The Seattle Seahawks Football Team might not be the first name that comes to mind for the best tailgating, but they still hold some great opportunities and great fun.
